We are currently looking to fill the following VOLUNTEER positions:
Warehouse Manager (Fort Worth) - We are looking for an amazing, hard-working, organizer who doesn't mind getting dirty! Our 5,000 sq.ft warehouse (soon to be 20,000+ sq. ft.) is a mess and will be a real challenge for the person(s) who accept the call. Must be able to work in a warehouse setting where temperatures fluctuate and can be colder or hotter than outside temps. Able to climb a ladder, walk, stand, lift up to 50Lbs, handle furniture, household goods, and misc. other items. Receive inventory, manage pickups and deliveries and assist volunteers during service days and special events.
Driver/Pickup & Delivery 2 to 4 positions available- (Fort Worth) - must have a valid Texas Drivers License, Clean Driving Record and feel comfortable driving a cargo van, box van or box truck (no CDL required). Must be able to lift, carry, load and unload furniture, appliances, household goods, clothing and other related items.
Social Media Director (Fort Worth) - We are looking for a talented, creative volunteer to take the lead on this. Most of the work could be done remotely but the right fit for this position would require a very flexible schedule, knowledge and ability to produce "reels", video's, capture and post photos, understand analytics & metrics, marketing, produce flyers and campaigns using programs like Canva.
Volunteer/Event Coordinator (Fort Worth) - This volunteer position is equivalent to a part-time job with lots of hands-on planning, communication, scheduling, monitoring, managing of people to cover special events, regular volunteer activities and after-hours/weekend work. Although, these tasks could be shared by two individuals who would work well together (one scheduling, handling communications and logistics, the other on-site managing the actual events (volunteers).
Director of Development (Fort Worth) - This volunteer position (could become a full-time position) may require between 35-50 hours per month (or more) and is responsible for creating and maintaining community partnerships that align with the mission of our organization, seek out corporate/business sponsors, donations and assist with fundraising. This person will be an Ambassador and spokesperson for our organization and should be committed to and strongly believe in our mission, vision and values. Some of the skills helpful for this position: 1) Enjoys speaking to groups of people. 2) Detail oriented, strong organization skills 3) Excellent verbal and written communication 4) Well spoken, able to articulate our mission/vision to others 5) People oriented, engaging, flexible 6) Strong influencing/motivation skills 7) Not offended by the words; "No", "not now", "maybe later", "check back with us after the holidays" and "don't ever call us again". Creative, problem solver that NEVER gives up!
Receptionist (Fort Worth) - This volunteer position answering the phones and managing the front desk is open for part-time and full-time individuals. A person could choose to pick half-shifts, full shifts and any number of days they wished. We can see this position being filled by multiple people but would be perfect for someone who is retired and wants to stay busy. Some of the skills helpful for this position:
1) Pleasant phone voice, outgoing personality. 2) Good communicator, active listener and patient. 3) Calm under pressure and empathetic. Work mindfully and remain calm. 4) Retain information/good Memory. 5) Multi-tasker, able to field multiple calls, answer door, sign for packages, etc. while maintaining composure and control. 6) Organized. 7) Sense of Humor.
